Any thoughts on lasik eye surgery in New York?
Who would you recommend for LASIK in New York? Are certain LASIK doctors better than others? Is LASIK safe in New York City? Are there other cities beside New York that might be better for LASIK?

How safe is LASIK? Anyone been to Dr.Raymond Fong in Chinatown, New York for the LASIK surgery?

I had LASIK on both of my eyes about 5-6 years ago. It's pretty safe ... At least with the doctor I went with. I went to TLC in Fairfax, VA because 1) they've been doing eye surgery for over 25 years and 2) they guarantee the surgery for life. I still have close to 20/20 vision at this point and I do computer work for over 12 hours a day.

I have been there and according to some people the staff are rude and they don't respect you. But I found it quite good. The front desk staff is wonderful. They are friendly, courteous, funny.

But, you are not a good candidate for Lasik surgery if you want to join golden gloves
High trauma risk patients such as boxer, wrestler, martial arts enthusiasts, rugby players and other who engage in activities with a high likelihood of ocular trauma may not be right for LASIK eye surgery. Because a flap can be dislodged or damaged even years after surgery if the eye is exposed to extreme trauma.
