enhancement to lasik

i am 46 years old, been wearing glasses since i was 10, contacts since i was 17 and monovision contacts for about 5 years. i had no problems adjusting to the monovision. when i went to the lasik doc to have corrective surgery consultation, he and all of the nurses who preformed tests on me suggested strongly that i do monovision correction. after much thought, i decided to do that since the reason i was there was to rid myself of glasses and contacts. i didn't want to be 'glued' to a pair of reading glasses. they did my right eye for distance as it was with the contacts and my left eye for close up. after the surgery, i could see wonderfully within 10' or so, but my distance vision was less than desirable. after the usual day after, week after, month after follow up visits, the doc agreed that i needed an enhancement done on the distance eye. he said i had a slight astigmatism and that was probably causing the blurriness. i waited 3 months for the enhancement (normal wait time for enhancement) and had it done 4 days ago. i can see little or no difference now after the enhancement. when i went the day after and read the charts, he told me that it was still early and that my vision may correct on it's own in the next few days or weeks. i asked what my options were in case this didn't happen. he said he could enhance the same eye again (this would mean three surgeries on the same eye) OR i could enhance the close up eye to distance which would make my vision much better, but then i would be back to wearing reading glasses. has anyone out there had this problem and if so, is there any more 'risk' of having the enhancement done a second time or is it the same? am i asking for problems down the road by having this done AGAIN? i can see to drive, but cannot read street signs until i'm right up on them. if i'm in familiar territory, this is no problem, but otherwise, i would need glasses. the enhancement was easier than the original surgery as they simply lift the flap and don't have to cut it again.

A question about lasik

I still have a feeling of an eyelash in my right eye now and then. It isn't constant but, it does happen periodically throughout the day. I had my surgery this past Wednesday the 19th, so, 5 days ago. Did anyone else have that eyelashy kind of pain days after surgery or should I be concerned? At my follow up and the day I went in because I was an idiot with the eye dropper, my doc said all was looking great and I was doing better than I should be. I don't see anything in my eye. Just a little worried because on one of the sheets my doc sent home with me, it says that if I experience pain, I should call him. But, I think I remember reading about the sensation of an eyelash in they eye for a couple days.

Lasik Eye Surgery - Anyone try it?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had that lasik eye surgery done. If so, did it hurt and have there been any side effects? My whole family and boyfriend and friends would love to get this done. Just wondering. Thanks!

Is Lasik worth the cost?

Hi
I am 22 and have been considering Lasik eye surgery. I was wondering if I could get feedback as to whether the cost of the surgery and the results are worth the financial cost. Any horror stories or positive stories on how it has affected you?

Question on Support

Hi
How this thread has helped you, does it provide a support network? How have you used the information in your decisions for lasik and aftercare? In general how has your experience been using this forum? Thank you! :)

Lasik when older

About a year ago I saved up for Lasik. Dr said I was good candidate, but I would need reading glasses. I am nearsighted and didnt yet need reading glasses, so felt the change off not worthwhile. Anyone my age (52) have successful Lasik ?

A few questions about lasik

Hi, I'm new here, I've been lurking for a while. Well anyway, I am set to have Lasik on 3-17 and I have been freaking out ever since. According to my eye doctor I am a "slam dunk correction", I am guessing that is a good thing. My prescription for both eyes is -3.25 and I have a slight astigmatism in both eyes. My vison has been stable for over two years. So, here are some of my concerns: How many of you have a severe problem with dry eyes due to lasik? I currently do not have dry eyes (used to wear my contacts for 16 hours a day w/o using drops). Will that change due to the surgery? I know there is no way to tell if someone is going to have chronic dry eyes after surgery. Just want some reassurance that it will get better over time. Another concern is halos or night glare: This really freaks me out. The thought of not being able to drive at night really scares me. I have read that pupil size has a lot to do with this. If so, what is a good size?

Stats:
32yrs
-3.25 both eyes
slight astigmatism both eyes
pupil size 5.5-6.0mm

Sorry this is so long!

Decisions regarding surgery and aftercare

Hi
How this thread has helped you, does it provide a support network? How have you used the information in your decisions for lasik and aftercare? In general how has your experience been using this forum? Thank you! :)

Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) Lenses

I have seen CRT mentioned on the posts but no one has written about actually using them. I have recently started, so I thought I would share my experience so far.
I wanted an alternative to surgery -- I've been using the corneal refractive therapy (CRT) lenses now for one week. I noticed an immediate change and it is amazing to be free from any type of lenses during the day. It is currently only for myopia (nearsightedness).
The doctor must be certified in fitting and dispensing them. They are rigid lenses so they feel a lot different than soft contacts -- for me the sensation is annoying but not intolerable, and becomes less annoying the longer I use them. If you have ever worn contacts, you know what it feels like to have a foreign object under the lens. It does not feel painful like that. They are inserted right before you go to sleep, so you don't feel them for that long. When I wake up, I can't feel them at all.
In 4 nights of use I went from 10/400 vision (not able to see myself in the mirror) to being able to drive. The worse your Rx, the longer it will take to correct, and longer to resolve if you stop using them. My eyes were -3.25 and -4.50. The -3.25 eye was OK for driving in 2 days, the -4.50 eye in 4.
They are more expensive than regular contacts but the freedom from glasses, contacts, or surgery is worth it to me. I had never even heard of these until a week ago and now I can see. They were approved by the FDA in 2002 (FDA reports available on their website).
So far the inconveniences have been: (1) repeated visits to the doctors office - which you would have with surgery as well. There is a visit at one day, one week, and one month (more possible); (2) I had to wear them for driving the first 3 days, which again felt annoying but not intolerable. (3) Handling the rigid gas permeable lens is different than soft contacts, which took me a few uses to get accustomed to - they bounce when dropped and are trickier to remove. They give you a suction device for removal which I found very easy to use.
You must be dedicated to using them and caring for them properly. You must use solutions for RGP lenses which are not as widely used as soft, and the supplies for them are limited in my local grocery and pharmacy. I am still looking for a store that carries the recommended solution, but I found a comparable type at my pharmacy.
Another thing is if you lose one, you will be without sight until it's replaced. You can't use your regular contacts or glasses because your vision is temporarily changed. I would think some doctors might offer some type of insurance on loss, I am going to ask my doctor at my next visit.
Overall so far I would say the CRT lenses are becoming a great investment for me.
If you do an internet search on "CRT lenses" you will find more detailed information.

Lasek versus Lasik

Hi
In doing some research I have heard that there are two procedures, Lasek and Lasik. Does anyone know the real difference, is one better than the other? What is the average time it takes to heal with either surgery? Will you need help from others after the surgery or can you take care of yourself afterwards? How long do the results last, will you ever need to worry about glasses again? Does it depend on how bad your vision was to begin with?

Anyone notice any of these side effects?

Hi, I had Lasik done four days ago. So far I've liked it a lot, and I will be thrilled with it if these side effects go away:

-"Tired eyes": At the end of a long day my vision seems a little hazy if I go to watch TV or use the computer.
-Red spots: I have a big red spot on the white part of each eye. It doesn't affect my vision but it looks weird.
-Night halos: seem to be becoming less and less noticable, but it'd be great if they went away completely.

I know the night halos are somewhat common, especially at first, but I'm not sure about the other two. If anyone has any experience with any of these, could you let me know how it turned out for you? Thanks!

What's the best laser out there

I've been researching this for the past year and am getting ready to do this for my wife in September. I realize the skill of the doctor is important, but I also want the best laser for the surgery.

According to my research a few months back, the Allgreto laser was a very popular choice around the WORLD. Not too many offices in the US use it, but I've read that it was the amongst the bes laser. In addition, some clinics in the US are offering lasik with this laser along with intralalase (a technology where they use a laser to cut the corena rather than a blade.)

Yesterday, I received an e-mail from lasik eye centre in Canada. They claim to have the latest laser from Bauch & Lomb called the Zyoptix 100. I thought it was out a couple of years ago and may be mistaken. This is what they claim it does:

"1.The B&L Z100 is the only refractive laser in Western Canada
and the US with 3-D Iris Recognition and Pupil Recognition which allows
exact alignment of astigmatism treatment with pre-operative
WAVEFRONT measurements. This ensures an exact match between the pre-op
measurement and the laser treatment for every eye. This measures the
precise rotational position of the eye during surgery by matching the
iris patterns to the one taken during the pre-op exam. This allows the
laser to correct for "cyclotorsion"- the slight rotation of the eye that
can occur when the patient changes from a up to a laying down
position.
2.A Multi-dimensional Eye-Tracker that locks the laser onto the
eye during surgery at the exact spot as the pre-operative measurement to
significantly increased accuracy.
3.The B&L Z100 laser provides faster treatment times and faster
tracking for improved safety and predictability.
4.The B&L Z100 laser has one of the largest treatment zones
available which allows the treatment size to be bigger than the pupil
size at night decreasing night vision problems.
5.Tissue saving which leaves 25% more tissue in corneal bed than
previous technology."

In anycase, I was hoping to get opinions from those who are familiar w/ the latest technolgy. Thank you.

Really Scared Dimple on cornia!

Hello all. I am hoping that there are some surgons and or people who can shed light on my problem.

I am 26 trs old and had intra lasik 6 months ago by a very well respected surgon. My problems strated very early... the day of surgery i was basically blind after it was complete. the anestesia did not prevent me from feeling the laser. they had to clamp my eye open and that caused alot of trauma to the eye. i gradually revovered.. evan though my vision has never been perfect.

About a month ago i noticed a dimple in my left eye and it has been getting biger.. i went to see the surgon and he told me my eyes were "dry". I put tears in my eyes all the time and the problem has been getting worse and its affecting my ability to see clearly. i have been looking to get a second opinion... but aparently other surgons dont want to see me if i have already had the surgery.. i am not looking to sue the doc. he has been more then a standup guy through out the process and he has done alot of my family and freinds with no problems... but i am concerned that i am gradually going blind in one eye... does anyone have any sugestions and heard of this.. I am very scared of loosing my sight..

danny

IS this normal ?. I felt fine a couple of days after the op.. now my vision and my eyes are terrible... my percription was -2.5 and -1.75...now its -cr*p and -bloddy awful... whats going on....I thougth I would get better not worse.......even the keys on this keyboard are out of focus

Will this improve...when ?... have I caused a problem ?... has somehting gone wrong ?

Lasik and Reading Close up Vision

I am considering having Lasik done next month but do not want to have monovision. I am very nearsighted and also need glasses for reading and computer work, so I wear glasses all of the time. However, my vision is good within a 7 inch range. If you have had lasik (not monovision) and have lost your close-up vision, do you find it annoying having to put glasses on & off to read. Is it very difficult to put on makeup? Is your food blurry and if so, do you find it annoying? Does anyone use progressive glasses for reading and computer work with no presription in the top portion for distance? That way you don't have to keep taking your glasses on and off when at work. Thanks for any and all responses.

Stable Rx to have Lasik?

Hi everybody!

I have an appt next Wed. with a well-known Lasik Dr. for a consultation. I was just looking at all the posts on Lasik, and I came across a couple that say you Rx has to be stable for between 1 to 5 years. Now Im so disappointed!! Im 25 yrs old and have worn glasses since I was 17. I just had a Rx change about 2 months ago, but only a slight change after 2 years. I was sooooooo excited about getting this done because I have a real problem with my appearence with glasses (vain, I know :nono: ). I just have this overwhelming feeling that if I have my vision corrected I would be a much more confident person & have higher self-esteem. Anybody been turned down for Lasik because of this? Sorry if I sound negative, just need a few encouriging words!
Thanks,
Sasha

Question to the women.

I have found that my eyes aren't as dry or irritated if I keep the eye makeup to the bare minimum of just eyeliner. I would love to be able to wear eyeshadow because, call me vain but, now that my eyes aren't hidden behind glasses, it would be nice to show them off a little more than eyeliner can do. Anyway, have any of you ladies who have had Lasik had the same experience and found a brand of eyeshadow that is more gentle on the eyes? I have a problem with exyma(sp). Right now I am using Physician's Formula but, even that irritates them ever so slightly. I do know that anything hypo-allergenic is best. But, is there a line that is better than others? I would appreciate any help anyone can give me. If I have to, I will just use eyeshadow for special occassions but, it would be so wonderful if I could look my best at work as well. I only figured out that my eyeshadow was causing me more dryness when I started noticing a difference in the way my eyes felt during the weekends when my makeup use is less and frequently none at all.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Prk

I went in to be checked to see if I was a candidate for lasik, and they told me I would not be a good candidate for lasik but good for PRK. I havn't seen anything on these boards about this. Anyone else have it...and how did it go?

I'd appreciate any input...thanks!

Wanting to do Lasik

I would like to hear from anyone who's had Lasik done. I have read a lot of research on this procedure and would like some feedback from people who have had this done. All feedback good and bad welcomed.

Thank you

Punctal Plugs?

I did a search and see no mention of this... has anyone used them and, if so, do you think that they were a great benifit? I think they sound a little creepy... but if they will be a benifit to me in the long run then I will do it! :)

Anyone need an enhancement? [Archive] -

I had LASIK in August 2004, and I need to have an enhancement. My vision is about -.75 now. It was about 20/15 after surgery. Did anyone else have a similar experience with LASIK? Did your vision greatly improve after the enhancement?
Thanks!

is lasik surgery for me?

I need reading glasses to read newspapers, computer screen, also to do anything where I need to look closely at something. I can still see far away things perfectly. If I try to read very small print I have to use reading glasses and a magnifying glass just to read (say like a small pill bottle). I would like some input as to what i should have done. thanks in advance

Can I get LASIK eye surgery? Costs? Insurance?

At 4 years old I had surgery on my eyes for lazy eye. My left eye was 20/20, but because of the right eye, it is 20/40 now. My right eye is 20/60 and together I see 20/50. I am 20 years old.
On average, how much does this surgery cost? Under what circumstances would insurance cover it?

Question regarding testing

My main fear when getting glasses and contacts is that when they test your eyes they do that whole "is this better or this?" thing. And sometimes I can't tell which is better. I'm afraid that if I choose badly that I'll be stuck with the results forever. I've gotten glasses before that don't seem as good as others I've gotten in the past, and I think it's due to not choosing the right perscription.

Lasik Surgery if you have had an eye injury?

My husband would really like to have Lasik Surgery done but he heard somewhere that he wouldnt be able to because he had to have a piece of metal taken out of his eye in the past. Something about the scar tissue from this would make it impossible to do the surgery. Does anyone know if that is true?

Lasik and dilating too much

I had Lasik surgery a year ago and still have halos around lights
while driving at night. I will talk to my doctor, but could this be
happening because my eyes are dilating too much?

What can I do about this? Right now I wear driving glasses, but
I would prefer a different method.

Lasik and Dry eye

My girlfriend had lasik eye surgery last week. She says her vision is fantastic but she is complaining of dry eyes/pain/irritation. She also has a broken blook vessel in her right eye and it is very red. Is this something that is expected after this type of surgery?
Any info I would be great. Thanks.

Lasik and Reading Glasses

I am very nearsighted and need my glasses for everything EXCEPT reading up-close. I am considering LASIK for distance, and would then need reading glasses for close work. (I've tried contacts simulating monovision and found the resulting vision too fuzzy for my lifestyle.) Has anyone else gone this route? I'm OK with the medical aspect of the lasik procedure, but am struggling with the psychological concept of completely reversing how I experience the world!

an optometrist Afraid of Lasik

I am 25 and was told be an optometrist to wait until I was about 30 to get Lasik because the eye changes rapidly until then. Was he telling me the truth? I am only asking this because a lot of the people around my age have had it done already. I don't wear contacts because I am afraid of putting things in my eyes (just got glasses 2 years a go). For obvious reasons I don't want to wear glasses, so I was wondering what the surgery is like and if anyone had bad experiences?

Lasik on high degree of astigmatism?

I was recently evaluated for custom lasik surgery with a very reputable doctor and was told that I do qualify as a candidate, however, there would be a chance that I would require an enhancement in approx. 6 months. due to my high degree of astigmatism. My prescription is approx. -5.00 miopia with a -5 (regular) astigmatism in both eyes. I have spoken to many people who have had very successful results with this surgery, but none that have had even close to my prescription. I am interested to know if there is anyone on these boards that may have a similar prescription to mine and has had custom lasik (star 4) surgery? If so, what were your results? Thank you.

What is Prelex?

Not a lasik question I know but closely related. Has anybody had or looked into the treatment called prelex? This is an alternative to lasik, really good for those with bifocal glasses. it is like the cataract operation where they take out your lens and put in a contact lens - even a bifocal. Your vision is meant to stay the same for ever thereafter and you will never get cataract as the natural lens is no longer there. Any info from anyone???

Intralasik and eye centers

Does anybody know much about Intra lasik, and/or had it done? It sounds like a less risky procedure, since the flap is made with a laser and not a blade. however, not many doctors in my area (Phoenix, a pretty big city) offer it. Only one of the "eye centers" offers it. I wonder if this is because it's fairly new & not as predictable--or if it's just because it's too expensive.

Also, for those who have had lasik/intralasik done, have most of you done it with those "eye centers" with several doctors, or gone to a small, private practice?

4 days after lasik my vision still blurry

I had the surface laser treatment last Thursday and it is now early Tuesday morning. Immediately afterwards, I could see pretty good, but this came and went in the next few days. When I went back for my 24 hour follow up visit, they checked my vision and said that it was at 20/40 and said that I was progressing on schedule. I go back in about 7 hours to have the protective contact lenses that they put in to promote cell growth removed and my vision is still at around what I would guess to be about 20/40 and mostly blurry. Not to bad as far as irritation over the past 5 days, but I was wondering if it's possible that these contacts that they'll be taking out today are somewhat to blame for this blurred vision that I am experiencing. Every time that I have put in the medicated eye drops since the surgery, my vision clears up to what I would call perfect vision (meaning that I can see crystal clear) for about 30 seconds to a minute, then goes right back to what it has been. My question is this, Doc says I'm doing just fine, but am I going to get clearer vision when he takes these protective lenses out?

Lasik: detachment of corneal flap during surgery

I had Lasik surgery 5 days ago with one of the best and most experienced surgeons in the New York area. Unfortunately, I experienced a problem. I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience:
The surgeon started with my left eye. While replacing the corneal flap, apparently the top third tore off. When he did the right eye (perhaps surprising that he continued?) the rightmost half of the flap tore away upon replacement. I only learned of these yesterday at a follow-up appt. At the surgery and at my next-day appt, it was described to me as a "scratch of the cornea in each eye" -- an unusual event that "might occur 5% of the time". I actually had very little pain or discomfort as a result, but am now suffering from double vision in each eye (A ghost with vertical displacement in the L, ghost with angular displacement in the R). The results is that while my visual acuity is somewhat improved -- still -2.50 in R and -1.50 in L -- I cannot really see well, drive or read. I am hopeful that these symptoms will resolve as healing continues -- as my doctor has assured me. However, I informally consulted another ophthalmologist who tells me that the circumstances are sufficiently unusual that there is really no telling whether the double vision will resolve or not. Anyone have a similar experience? Advice? prognosis? The irony, of course, is that this surgeon is the guy that other NY area doctors send their toughest cases and complications to.

my problem after lasik surgery

i had the lasix done a year ago in January. i had the mono vision done. i had worn contacts with monovision for over four years and loved it. so when i went for the lasik this was what i wanted. my age is 52 when i had it done. i was discharged from the practice because i wrote a letter about them scheduling people at the same time, example my appt was at 7:30 and they had five people schedule at same time and depending where your name was on the list when signing in that's how they took you. i scheduled for that time so i could be to work on time and would you believe it i never got out that office until after nine.
back to monovision , i have had a hard time with reading things up close, faw away vision fantastic. i also developed dry eyes never had it before. now there are telling me i need to be on eye drops called can't remember the name but they were going to cost me more than glasses or contacts. i haven't found a new doc yet but i use over the counter eye drops and cheater glasses for reading up close. I'm still glad that i have had the lasik done and i love monovision for the most part.

Need Some Advice

I'm 29 years old and I'm thinking abut getting Lasik. I have the pre op booked for this Friday Mar 18/05 and my surgery booked for the following Thursday but I'm starting to get second thoughts.

I've been reading a lot of information about people who have had severe problems with dry eyes afterwards and it doesn't seem to go away after the healing process is over and lots of problem with night vision when driving.

As for my eyes,, I am nearsighted (-5.5 Left & -5.75 Right). I don't have any problems with dry eyes now nor do I have any problems with night time vision. I just want to be able to see without glasses. ( I don't like to wear contacts)... Another one of my concerns is that I have very large eyes and would this cause problems with the halo's at night that I have read about.

Any advice would be helpful....

Also I'm getting my procedure done at Hamilton Laser Eye Institute in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Has anyone ever had their eye corrected their?

Thanks.

Sunglasses Questions?

I have a rather frivolous question. I love the frame on my prescription sunglasses and was wondering if anyone else has actually had the same desire as me to keep them but have them changed to non-prescription after their surgery. The question is, where would I do that. I don't know if I can just take them to a sunglass hut or something like that to have new non-prescription lenses put in them. I know that my choices for sunglasses will be unlimited after my surgery but, I really love the look of my current frames. Any ideas? Can I even ask a question like this on this board or does it all have to pertain to the surgery and experiences?
Thank you in advance for any advice any of you can give me!

Fatigue following after Lasik

I had my Lasik 11 days ago and have some questions for others who have had it done. I am finding that I feel quite tired after only a couple of hours of "eye use". My vision is, at the one week mark, slightly over-corrected: +0.5/0 (astigmatism) in one eye and +0.75/0.75 in the other eye. I can see 20/20, although I do not believe it is as clear as it was before with my glasses (I was -3.0 before), and everything looks clear EXCEPT text. Not that it is super fuzzy/blurry, just that I find it "uncomfortable" to read text (dr. says this may be because of the residual astigmatism in the one eye). The dr. says that we will determine if I need reading glasses at my 1 month check-up. In the meantime - I am stuck being uncomfortable reading, which is not good as I help manage an online business and I am finding that I can not spend time at the computer monitor.

So, my questions are - have other people experienced this fatigue, and does it go away over time? How much recovery time before I will not be feeling so "eye-tired"? And, the reading thing - I am young enough (35) that neither the dr. nor I thought that I would be having a problem with this - comments?

Thanks!

Qualifying for Lasik questions

What do the doctors test for when they are testing you to see if you are a good candidate for lasik?
Has anyone ever had Lasik? What was the surgery like?
Could you feel the laser?

I am 28 years old and have worn glasses and contacts lens since I was in 5th grade.
I have 5.25 in my right eye and 5.0 in my left.
I think my eyes are a little worse than they were a year ago at my last eye exam.
Has anyone else ever had lasik with that bad of a prescription? Was it successful?

Lasik dry and allergy eyes

I am considering Lasik, however, have had terrible problems with dry eyes, allergies, etc. My eyes sometimes burn constantly, and I can no longer wear contacts or eye makeup. Also, if I don't get close to 8hrs of sleep a night my eyes burn ALL day. I went to see a doctor to see if I'm a candidate and he said yes, though was rather fast with the exam and when I asked if my dry/allergy eyes would have a problem, he just said "it won't make them better!" He never warned me against the surgery.

Reading posts on here make me worry, but I want to ask if anyone out there has had problems similar to mine and have had success with Lasik??

Experiences with Lasik

Hoping to find out if anyone has used either Lasik Plus or Lasik Vision Institute, both are apparently nation wide and I am trying to decide between them. Rates are about the same, I did prefer one over the other for personal reasons, but I am hoping that some people out there might have some personal experiences they wanted to share.

Nature's Tears instead of Systane Eye drops

I just wanted to thank the person who posted about the Nature's Tears. I went out and got some yesterday. I can't find the post about it so, I am sorry I can't actually say thank you to you! Anyway, I was so tired of the drip of the Systane Eye drops I was using. It was a bit of a pain to keep wiping my eye lashes and the areas around my eyes every time I used it. The Nature's Tears EyeMist works pretty well. I will still use the Systane because it seems to wet them a little more than the mist but, the Mist is better with makeup and it works well. Thank you again!

Flakseed Oil after lasik?

I can't remember what thread it was in but, for the person who mentioned that this helped with the dry eye issue, can you tell me a little about how it works to keep your eyes moist. I know that when a person goes on the Low Carb diet, it is a suggested way to help process protein. I would appreciate any info you can provide for me. My eyes aren't unbearably dry but, anything that I can do to keep them moisturized is a bonus for me.

lasik dry eyes questions

I just had lasik done a few days ago, and i had never been aware of having dry eyes prior to surgery. Since the procedure, my eyes will spontaneously start burning, and when I put any kind of drops in, they burn also. The docs examined my eyes several days in a row and said my corneas are healing properly. Is what I'm experiencing considered dry eye? I am so petrified that this will become a permanent problem, and it would be unbearable. I figured it would be temporary since i'd never had a problem before surgery. What do you think? And how often should I use artificial tears, since I don't feel like my eyes are dry (but they obviously are). And my second question is has anyone ever tried thera tears nutrition capsules. Supposed to help w/ dry eyes b/c it has flaxseed oil and fish oil and vitamin E. I just bought it but wanted an opinion before trying it. Thank you.
