Sharon asks…
What are the benefits of Epi Lasik?
Are the surgery really beneficial? Share your thoughts.
admin answers:
Benefits of Epi Lasik are many and these benefits largely outweigh the drawbacks. Here are the benefits:
•It doesn’t cut a cornea flap.
•For the future, you will retain a good amount of cornea.
•As it avoids thinning the cornea too much, it is suitable for many more people.
•It is less likely to cause dry eyes than regular lasik.
•It is done fast and the cornea fully heals.

What do you think about laser eye surgery - EPI-LASIK Wavelight?
I have -3 diop. (shortsightedness eye) and I am thinking about undergo a surgery.
Will I see sharp right after the surgery?
admin answers:
I had -5.75 and I got LASIK surgery with the "Zioptix" laser (it's supposed to be more accurate). I found the surgery to be one of the scariest experiences of my life but I would definitely do it again. You will see clearly IMMEDIATELY after the surgery but your vision will be clouded...that sounds weird but it's the only way I can explain it. It was extremely painful for me in the hours afterward, but it goes away pretty quickly. I've also been told that others didn't really feel a thing, so maybe it depends on your prescription. You might experience halos around lights for a little while after but that also goes away (usually). If they ask if you want a valium, take it. They'll also give you some of the numbing eye drops that they use right after...if your eyes are in a lot of pain, use them. That's pretty much all the advice I can give!! Hope you decide to do it, one of the best decisions of my life!

admin answers:
DONT WORRY, BE HAPPY! Before taking any decision in life, you must think, ponder, but once decided, No Procrastination, please.
If i received all pertinent information related to you &your specs etc, it would have been a clear advice, still, I can say that if the doctor is conscientious and uses the ART & SCIENCE judiciously, you surely will enjoy Post LASER vision well. All Roads lead to Rome. So whatever you undergo, generaly you will have better life.
Anything which can go wrong, will go wrong sometime or other, but that does not preclude us to enjoy a meaningful LIFE!
Jenny asks…
Is Epi-LASIK as good as it claims compared to conventional LASIK?
admin answers:
Not necessarily. As with conventional LASIK, it may not be suitable for everyone as well. Epi-Lasik also takes a much longer time to heal and is a more painful procedure than conventional LASIK. Epi-Lasik is more suited for those who have corneal that are too thin for conventional LASIK procedure.
Remember: Doesn't mean the latest technology is always the best. It is still best to leave the recommendation of which procedure to is best for you, up to your LASIK surgeon based on your consultation.
