My LASIK procedure cost almost 6,000 dollars. My vision was -4.25 in both eyes. I had my right eye re-touch 6 months after the first procedure and it didn't cost anything.

Lasik eye surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and Lasik surgery in India by a company called Indian Health Guru Consultants. The Price for dental and Lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.
Indian Health Guru Consultants is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, Lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.
They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Betty asks…
when was the first eye lasik procedure done, what did it cost back then, how have they changed over the years?
can you have lasik done more than once in your lifetime? can you see both far and close with lasik? Did you have lasik done? I see where lasik (here) is down to $250 per eye, is that reasonable or a scam?
ha, my trusted cataract surgeon (well his office manager) insisted that cataract surgery (both eyes) costs only $1,300 if that (he said, to have both eyes done). Your comment about $2,000 makes me question that office's (all there) experience.

LASIK has been around for almost 20 years. I would be very CAREFUL with cheap surgery. Usually there is a lot of fine print and the lowest price is for very minimal correction, if you have a high power you are gonna pay more. And most of the cheap places use dated equipment that is old technology. Old technology means you are taking more risk with the outcome. For the latest all laser custom LASIK you should expect to pay around $2000 per eye. Most surgeons will include a set time where you can have an enhancement done at no extra charge. Also, LASIK will only correct your distance prescription, so if you are over 40 you will need reading glasses for fine print. And if you are under 40, someday you will need reading glasses after LASIK. I tell my patients who are interested that you wouldn't shop around for a bargin heart surgery that used 20 year old technology. You only get one pair of eyes, so be careful with them.

LASIK COST insurance?
My insurance benefit says 85 % of charge for LASIK procedure , does this mean i have to pay 85 % ???
admin answers:
Yes I have not heard of any one paying for Laser procedures, but may be these new companies to grab (buy) business. May have added this clause, if it may be, it will be as 15% Insurance company will pay.
