Should I do Lasik now or wait for better safer technology?
I am in the mid 20's consider Lasik, but i heard some side effect such as had problem in night vision, should I wait few more years maybe a safer and better technology will come out? What age should do Lasik before is too late?

LASIK is a laser based vision correction procedure where your vision can be corrected to such a degree that you no longer need corrective lenses. And the amazing part is that it all happens in just a few minutes!
Think about that - no more glasses or contact lenses. What a relief - never having to hunt for your glasses or fool around with contacts.
But LASIK eye surgery isn't right for everyone. You need to meet certain requirements before submitting to LASIK eye surgery.
Here are a few of the guidelines used in determining if LASIK is a good choice for you -

Lasik surgery: Your blindness is temporary, do not be alarmedReno Gazette Journal, NV - Oct 10, 2008Several masked, gloved and capped Lasik doctors leaned over me, seemingly fascinated by my impending sightlessness. Over 28 years' worth of hospital visits, ...
* You should be over 18 years of age.
* Your corneas must be healthy.
* You should not have had a significant change in your lens prescription in the last 12 months.
* Women should not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
* You should be in good general health.
Hope this helps!

Lasik surgary?
Hi I was wondering if it is now safe to get Lasik eye surgary my mom is afraid something may happen during the surgary. How does it feel and is there any side affects afterward. Also how do I convince my mom that it is saf. The job I am going to be working for needs me to have 20/20 vision. And also where is the safest place to do.
I am only 16

No one will do Lasik on a 16 year old. Before they do Lasik, your prescription needs to be stable for several years. Your prescription usually will stabilize sometime in your 20's. The common side effects are dry eyes and night blindness but we don't know what the long term affects may be. How to convince your mom it's safe, well, I'm an optician, I can have it done free and won't do it, I'm easily corrected with glasses and contacts and I don't like the idea of not being able to see clearly driving at night, so I don't know how to convince your mom since no one has been able to convince me.
Best place to have it done- check with your local optometrists, they will tell you who has a good reputation in the optical community.

Is lasik eye surgery safe?
my eyes sucks now..so doc said i should do that surgery im 18 now ..is it safe? = i know its scary
admin answers:
I have heard that people need to wait until they're atleast 25 or 26...that's when your eyes stop changing. A friend of mine got hers done when she was 21 and her vision is already starting to worsen. You should just wait atleast 5 or 6 years....I am 24 and still waiitng...but I'm worried it might make you go blind...YOU NEVER KNOW!!!!
Good luck! :)

Is Lasik Eye Surgery Safe? Does it work? Do Results Last?
I'm old (55 yrs) and was wondering if I'm still a candidate for laser eye surgery? Do the results last? I'd like to hear from folks that had it done over 10-15 years ago. By now, they probably know what they're doing.

Hey, I had lasik surgery just last May. I was 17 that time, they said 21 is the right age to take the surgery. But below 21 is fine, it's just that my eyes has a chance to get worse again. I don't really understand what they say that 21+ age is the right age for your eyes to be stable, because my mom said that her eyes is getting worse. I think it depends on how you take care of your eyes after the surgery. So far, my eyes are still the same grade.
Before taking the actual lasik surgery, there's some screening tests you would've to take first. If you pass all of them then you can now take the surgery. The process was only 20 minutes, they clean your eyes with water, put something etc etcc..then the laser. One eye at a time too.
They said that it will take 24 hours to heal, but mine was only 2 hours. My sister and I were in the taxi. I'm in the front seat and I can already see the plate numbers of other cars.
My eyesight before was 700-800, now it's 20-25. I really wish I had a good eyesight when I was little, so I can enjoy sports, I love to play sports, but because of that I can't do well.
I'm in the Philippines, so it's cheaper here. Good luck to you!
